Some of the Books I’ve Written:
The New Christian Charm Course is special to me because it was co-written with my daughter, Angela. There is a teacher book, a student book, and other materials that can be purchased either together or separately. The book is interactive, meaning it has portions that you write in and use in any group setting, whether it is a mother and her daughter or a girls’ Bible study class. I have taught the course at both Legacy Christian Academy and Prestonwood Christian Academy and love the feedback I get from the girls each time. Ideally, the book is a resource to provide you with tools to help guide girls ages 10-14 through issues and topics such as gossip, conflict resolution, etiquette, clothes, diet, and makeup – all with the goal of becoming a C-7 young woman: Christ-like character, change, class, cultured, courage, committed, and yes, charming in the Lord!

Bonding with Your Teen through Boundaries is my most recent release, co-authored with June Hunt. It covers the tough job of being a parent raising teenagers. This book shows you how to establish boundaries with teens in four areas—at home, school, and in their personal and social lives. By tackling 38 topics ranging from backtalk to bullying, schoolwork to sexting, drugs to drinking, gambling to gangs, each chapter presents practical “What could you do/ What could you say?” coaching strategies. It is a practical resource for parents and anyone who interacts with teenagers.
Teaching with Heart is an excellent resource for teachers, helpers, and other children’s ministry personnel who want to help in shaping kids’ hearts with God’s Word. How do teachers balance the biblical education of children with a heartfelt, relational faith? How do teachers begin to learn methods and materials as well as to understand the personalities of the people to whom they minister? Teaching with Heart helps answer these questions. This handbook also familiarizes teachers in the Christian classroom with the vast array of information available on brain research and educational theory, while providing this information in a practical, useful, and reproducible form.
Special features include:
- Reproducible handouts for teacher training
- Charts and review pages for remembering key points
- Chapter questions adaptable for small group discussion

Cherishing and Challenging Your Children will help you understand your children as unique individuals and help you challenge them to become all they were created to be, including practical tips on learning styles, temperaments, discipline, communication, self esteem, making meaningful memories, enriching your child’s environment, praying more effectively for your children and giving gifts of time.
You and Your A.D.D. Child is for parents as well as teachers. It is co-authored by Dr. Paul Warren who is a child psychologist as well as pediatrician and Jody Capehart who is a mother of an ADD son and experienced educator for 33 years. Dr. Warren provides the medical information on understanding ADD and Jody provides the educational and parenting information. It is a practical book filled with wisdom and insight on how to work with these precious children. The book is endorsed by Teachers in Focus, Association of Christian Schools International, Christian Educators Association International and Minirth Meier New Life Clinics.
Once Upon a Time is my testimony about my journey to Jesus. It is a funny, heart-warming book that will bring laughter to your lips and a tear to your eyes. Kerby Anderson, international President of PROBE Ministries says that “If the Christian world has an Erma Bombeck, then Jody Capehart deserves the nomination. Her humor and storytelling will encourage and inspire you.” Emilie Barnes, author of many books on creating an organized and happy home says, “What a joy to know Jody and experience what the Lord has done and is continuing to do in her life. As she tells her story, you will feel her heart and humor.” Cynthia Tobias, author and Focus on the Family speaker says, “Jody offers a delightful blend of wit and honesty with a message of acceptance and hope for everyone.”
